Jo Bled is a project of Jabe Ledoux, a composer/improviser/percussionist currently based in Vergennes, VT. Using Morrocan Tbilat drums, a bell of unknown origin, one traditional drumstick and one piece of driftwood, the eight pieces juxtapose pure, wild, spontaneous improvisation with random, arbitrary and absurd electronic chicanery. This eight-track release is a mesmerizing exploration of rhythm and atmosphere, heavily centered around hand drums, with subtle layers of noise and drone woven into the mix. Baby is a She-Ghost unfolds as a hypnotic and deeply immersive listening experience, where repetitive percussion patterns create an almost trance-like effect, while distant drones and fragile textures linger just beneath the surface.
